ゲーリーもシステムをシェアするっていうお話

日本だとあまり話題にならない設計作業のIT化についてですが、海外では事務所での取り組みをオープンにするという流れがちらほら出てきていますね。
先日、オランダの建築事務所UN Studioが「オープンソース建築スタジオ」を計画しているという記事を紹介しましたが、ゲーリーは自身の事務所での経験を生かした「図面を使わない」設計システムをオープンにしていく、という話をしているみたいですね。

"My dream is to do buildings paperless. And it can be done," Gehry told technology magazine Wired. "I discovered that, using the computer, we had more information, which kept us in control and allowed us to protect the owner from a lot of waste in the process."

ゲーリーといえばFacebookの新社屋の設計でも名前を見ますが、アメリカ西海岸ならばITと建築をよりよく融合できる可能性があるのかもしれません。
